All at Westport United FC are deeply saddened at the passing of Ciaran Keating, father of former Westport United underage and Cork City player Ruairí Keating.

Ruairí was a talented and successful underage footballer with our club prior to his move into League of Ireland football and English non-league football and his older brother, Conall also played underage football for the club. When both Ruairí and Conall played underage football for the club, Ciaran, alongside his wife, Ann Marie were both ardent supporters of the two boys and Ciaran's proudest moment supporting his kids at Westport United came when Ruairí helped Westport United completed the U.16 Treble when the side won the Connacht U.16 Cup in Athlone back in 2011.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Ruairí and the entire Keating family at this exceptionally difficult time.

We ask that the family’s privacy be respected at this difficult time.
