Many congratulations are being extended to Darren Browne who was drafted into the Connaught Squad last night for the Ward Cup Interprovincials that take place in Donegal, commencing tomorrow evening. Darren joins Gary Cunningham and Cillian McGlade who are already in the twenty man squad that was announced recently.

Representing your province is a prestigious honour for an amateur footballer in this country and Westport United FC is proud of any footballer that gets recognised by their province at this level.

The composition of the Connaught squad is exclusively made up of junior footballers while Leinster, Munster and Ulster are largely made up of intermediate league players, which makes any achievement on the pitch by Connaught in the tournament even more remarkable as they are seen as the tournament underdogs and the whole squad will undoubtedly relish any challenge that is put in front of them with determination and strength of character.
